The NFPA 1584 Rehab Standard requires that fire departments develop Standard Operating Procedures for the establishment of Rehab. Nine elements of Firefighter Rehab are: Calorie and electrolyte replacement, Medical monitoring, EMS treatment as needed, Responder accountability, Release procedures, Relief from climatic conditions, Rest and recovery, Active and/or passive cooling or warming as needed, Re-hydration (fluid replacement).
